Suan Nong Nooch in Thailand.

Introduction: Located about 18 km south of Pattaya, this incredibly marvelous garden is spread over 500 acres of well-manicured landscapes. Those touring Thailand, should invariably include this garden in their 'must see' list. Amazingly beautiful sceneries and spectacular views combine to create a magical and fairytale atmosphere of a different king.

Originally, conceived as a fruit plantation site, the sprawling 500 acres area was bought by Mr. Pisit and Mrs. Nongnooch Tansacha in 1954. But having seen some beautiful gardens on her many trips around the world. Mrs. Nongooch was inspired to create a beautiful tropical garden on her own, complete with ornamental flowers and plants. The ideas bore fruit and the end result was the suan Nong Nooch, a stunningly beautiful garden named after Mrs. Nongooch. 'Suan' means Garden.

The garden was thrown open to the public in 1980. Since its inception, the garden has been attracting a large number of visitors. The garden today is hugely popular, and attracts more than 2,000 visitors per day. Keeping its popularity in mind, the garden endeavours to constantly keep on improving so that one can have great time even if he or she is not a first time visitor. However, in spite of all improvements and changes, the garden has never ever deviated from its original aim - that is to keeping on generating and increasing public awareness about the importance of plants and flowers in our daily lives and the need to preserve them at all costs.

The garden is also internationally well known for its impressive Elephant and Thai Cultural Shows. There are also innumerable other tourist-friendly amenities like swimming pools, restaurants, villas and cottages. It has the reputation of being the biggest and most beautiful botanical garden in Southeast Asia as well.

Plan to spend a whole day at this exquisite Thai garden, which will enable you to truly soak in and bask in the magical atmosphere. Do not worry if you feet hungry, as there are no dearth of restaurants offering the choicest Thai and continental cuisines. A resort adjoins the vast gardens, so if you run out of time you can easily spend the night here.
